Vision for the Lower Msimbazi Upgrade Project

VE-R is invited to facilitate a Round Table/Workshop at the IFLA World Congress 2023. The workshop will focus on River and City Park design in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and will provide an opportunity to share knowledge on the Lower Msimbazi Upgrading Plan (LMUP). The IFLA World Congress attracts professionals interested in creating a sustainable built environment and will be held in Sweden and Kenya.

The LMUP workshop, chosen for its relevance to the conference theme of “Emergent Interaction”, and also relates to the conference subthemes through stakeholder involvement, a site-specific approach considering global effects, and an integrated approach through multicultural and interdisciplinary efforts. Josje Hoefsloot will present the LMUP project’s achievements in public space design, flood resiliency, Nature-Based Solutions, Non-Motorized Transport networks, and biodiversity. Attendees are warmly invited to join the discussion.
